DOING OUR PART IN WATER CONSERVATION

The image features a splash of water, captured mid-motion, creating a wave-like effect against a light background.

Water conservation plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of our community’s resources and protecting the environment for future generations. As stewards of this critical shared resource, it is essential that all users act responsibly and remain mindful of how daily water use impacts overall supply and infrastructure.

Practicing conservation not only demonstrates consideration for neighbors and the broader community but also reflects a commitment to sustainable living and informed decision-making.

Mid Valley Metropolitan District does not currently impose water use restrictions; it strongly encourages all customers to adopt water-efficient practices and remain aware of their consumption. The reasoning behind not imposing water restrictions is that many of the communities we serve have raw water irrigation systems with privately held water rights and/or ditch rights.

Looking ahead, the district is evaluating adjustments to its rate structure, including the potential implementation of a fourth billing tier to further promote responsible usage.  In addition, the district believes communicating and educating our members is the most effective way to effect reducing demand. The Executive Director of the district is willing to speak at community and HOA meetings to discuss water and conservation issues. Please contact the district office at 970-927-4077 if you are interested.

By staying knowledgeable, proactive, and conscientious, we can collectively help preserve this vital resource.
